Taba, a resort town in Egypt, is one of the most popular beach destinations in Africa. Situated on the Taba Peninsula, it borders Israel and Jordan, making it a great stop for those looking to explore multiple countries within a short time frame. Taba is well known for its beaches and coral reefs, which make it a popular spot for scuba diving and snorkeling. There are also a number of restaurants and bars in the area, as well as several luxury hotels. Whether you’re looking for a trekking adventure or just a relaxing beach vacation, Taba is worth considering.

Where is Taba and why is it a popular beach destination for tourists?

Taba is a Red Sea resort town located in the south of Egypt. It’s a popular destination for tourists seeking to experience the sea, sun, and sand of the Egyptian coastline. If you are trekking in Egypt, Taba can be one of those nice stops to take a break and relax.

What to do in Taba – the best beaches and activities

This resort is known for its clear waters, which make it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. The town is home to a number of hotels and resorts, as well as casinos. Visitors to Taba can enjoy a variety of activities, including swimming, sunbathing, windsurfing, and more.

Taba can be either a starting destination or a stop on a trip of exploring the ancient ruins of Egyptian temples or trekking the Sahara Desert. One could argue that no visit to Taba would be complete without spending some time relaxing on one of the city’s beaches. Trekkers in the area need to be prepared for the extreme heat, as temperatures can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celcius) during the day. This is the case with most of Egypt.

From Taba, you are relatively close to Mount Sinai and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed St. Catherine’s Monastery. There are several guided tours starting in Taba that can take you there. One such tour offers late-night trekking, so you can see the sunrise from Mount Sinai. You can check it out here.

Mount Sinai

Mount Sinai is also a popular destination for hikers and climbers, who come to enjoy its stunning views and challenging trails. For centuries, the mountain has been a site of pilgrimage for Jews, Christians, and Muslims and it is still visited by thousands of people for religious reasons.

Saint Catherine’s Monastery is located at the base of Mount Sinai. The monastery was founded between 527 and 565 AD by Saint Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine I, and is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. Saint Catherine’s Monastery is famous for its library, which houses one of the largest collections of ancient manuscripts in the world. The monastery also has a museum with a collection of Byzantine art, and an orthodox chapel that contains Saint Catherine’s body. Every year, on Saint Catherine’s day (November 25th), pilgrims from all over the world come to Mount Sinai to visit Saint Catherine’s Monastery.

Other interesting nearby locations include the Coloured Canyon and the Wishwashi Canyon. If castles are your thing, you should probably visit Salah El Din Castle on Pharaoh’s Island – a place where you can also do snorkeling. You can check out several guided tours in the area here.

How to get to Taba from major airports in Europe and the Middle East

There are several ways to get to Taba from major airports in Europe and the Middle East. The most direct route is to fly into Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, which is located just a short drive from Taba. Alternatively, you can fly into Cairo International Airport and take a domestic flight to Taba International Airport.
