Nakiska is located In Alberta (Canada), at only 52 miles (83 km) from Calgary. Many would agree that few ski resorts have names that sound as cool as Nakiska does. The name is a Cree word (from the Cree First Nations tribe language), that means “to meet”, which kinda make sense if you believe ski resorts are good meeting places. You may be worth mentioning that in 1988 Nakiska hosted the Winter Olympic games and the Olympic flame still burns at the entrance of the resort.
Nakiska offers 64 trails and four chairlifts, 1 Monster Carpet, and 1 Reg Magic Carpet. The resort is an official training centre and receives alpine teams from everywhere in the world.
