A Grand Resort
Grand Targhee Resort is located in Wyoming (U.S.), near the town of Alta. The ski resort is located in proximity to the impressive Teton Range and at 42 mi (68 km) of Jackson.
Grand Targhee Resort offers tourists 1 conveyor and 4 quad-chairs. It is more appropriate for advanced skiers, as all the sections of the terrain are rated as advanced (15%) and difficult (85%). Whether you are an advanced skier or not, there are several things from the resort you might find exciting: snowcat adventures, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing trails, and dogsled tours.
The Teton Range
Perhaps the most important thing that makes Grand Targhee Resort famous is the 41.7 ft (12.7 m) of snowfall per season, which is above what most ski resorts in North America get. While this place is clearly not located in one of the coldest areas of North America, it enjoys plenty of snow due to its position on the west slope of the Teton Range and the existence of a moisture channel through the Rockies created by the Snake River Plain (that brings moisture from the Pacific Ocean to the Teton Range).
