Hot Springs in the Winter
Fairmont Hot Springs, commonly known as Fairmont (even though Hot Springs would have sounded better) is located in British Columbia, Canada. The name of this resort is easy to explain: it has a swimming pool and soak pool fed by natural mineral hot springs. Fairmont Hot Springs is known more as a community with impressive natural mineral hot springs and golf courses than as a ski resort. That being said, if you want a smaller resort where you can enjoy hot springs and ski at the same time, Fairmont Hot Springs is likely the right choice. It is possible that this place will indeed feel somewhat different from the top ski resorts.
The area includes a small ski area with three lifts (two surface lifts and one double lift) and 13 runs. Some may be interested in the three golf courses: two 18-hole course and a family-friendly 9-hole par 3.
In Fairmont Hot Springs you will also find the Dutch Creek Hoodoos. These are sandstone cliffs located near Dutch Creek-a salmon breeding stream that is one of the sources of the Columbia River. From here you can access several hiking trails. Alternatively, you can try the resort’s strip mall.
